Sutekh Hexen ‎– Moments Within The Current

Sutekh Hexen ‎– Moments Within The Current

The drama surrounding this band would be enough to forget about them, but I'm a fan (I even thought Behind The Throne was brilliant). Basically one member of Sutekh Hexen left after he thought they ran their course but another member kept the band going. Recently the newer Sutekh Hexen posts a "new" song on soundcloud. The old member then posts a song with the same length and very similar waveform stating that the new SH track is just them playing over this track, which SH then agrees to. Apparently the old member wants SH to stop using his material and repressing older stuff too but SH doesn't care. WANDS was quick to retort with releasing 4 tracks from that same session that the old member did under the same Sutekh Hexen name, so I guess this might not be an official SH release. Very silly, but at the very least we get new sounds. Starts out dark ambienty and progresses to noise. Fans of the band will enjoy. If you haven't gotten into this band I strongly suggest checking out the first 3 cassettes.

Filth Coalition ‎– Satisfaction & Violence

Filth Coalition ‎– Satisfaction & Violence

A short 5 minute blast of LA punk. I had their original demo on Kolony but the audio on the tape was fucked up, oh well. It's difficult to write about like 5 minutes of music, but this is pretty good. Apparently they have a forthcoming tape on Music For Downers.

Torture Chain - Mutilating Astral Entities

Torture Chain - Mutilating Astral Entities

This was one of the only things I picked up at Chaos In Tejas surprisingly, and by accident too. My friend wanted me to buy a Battle Ruins tape and then I saw that at one time Brendan had these tapes for sale, but instead apparently I grabbed the last one of these. Good thing too because I enjoy Torture Chain's previous releases.

If you liked other Torture Chain stuff then you'll like this. It's in the same kind of traditional black metal sense. This is a much longer play though, I think it's around an hour long. I don't think this was a Chaos In Tejas exclusive because the Y-Pestis logo is on the tapes with a cat number, so there will more than likely be a widespread release of this at some point. I have no idea though, don't quote me.
